The launch of The Last Empath of Doctsland is only a month and a few days away! I got my paperback proof to check things over last week, and now it's time to start preparing for my launch party!
Due to COVID-19 the launch party will be virtual, held on Instagram Live on my author account (which is @leahputz_ if you aren't following me there already). The event will take place on November 30th, the day of the book's release, from 5-6 PM CST.
You won't want to miss this party- there will be a Q&A session, I'll read a passage, and we'll end with a surprise giveaway! That being said, I'm taking questions for the Q&A now until the day of the launch. Is there anything you'd like to know about The Last Empath of Doctsland, or me, or my writing process/journey? Now is the time to ask! You can submit your questions on the 'Contact' page here: https://www.leahputz.com/contact
As part of my weekly blog update, I'm going to start including a snippet about whatever book I'm currently reading.
At the moment, I'm almost finished with Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. This is the book that inspired the 1998 movie by the same name, starring Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock. While I actually like the movie better (which is rare for me, most often I vastly prefer novelizations), this is a great book for the Halloween spirit as it prominently features ghosts and witches. It's a little dry, and written in more of an exposition style that makes it difficult to feel close to the characters. However, the magic and the sisterly bonds between Sally and Gillian, the Aunts, and Antonia and Kylie are enough to make up for that fact in my opinion. Overall, I give Practical Magic 3.5/5 stars.
